2023-07-07 friends

it's been a long time since my friends were here
								in the same room
on the same floor 
touching the same slimy, wet, rags 

with our eyes pressed closed
	hoping we didn't miss 
		and accidentally brush our hands together

i'd rather this than be swimming in that same muck
this way we can witness each other through a glass
filtered views from their side but i get the whole
and they can choose to join me, any time they like
